El Carabassí beach is one of the nicest places to sunbathe and to enjoy the sea in Alicante region. It´s located between Santa Pola and Arenales del Sol.
Going to El Carabassí beach is really easy, you just have to get to Santa Pola and take the street with direction of Arenales del Sol. This is very beautiful way between the sea and mountains.
Parking the car is easy, there are a lot of public places to park. It will take you about 5 minutes to get from a parking to the beach through a beautiful paths of wood. Views are just amazing.
There are dunes of fine, golden sand. During windy days you can see there some people windsurfing. To the north from the beach you can see Alicante and its most characteristic mountain with the castle. To the south you can catch a glimpse of Tabarca island. In this place you have a great sea and blue sky in front of you and a beautiful mountain with the lighthouse of Santa Pola and a lot of history behind you.
Carabassí beach is long and wide – excellent for going with children. Waves can be strong during windy days, but it’s not a dangerous beach. The biggest problem you can have there is to drink a little bit of salty water playing with waves.
In the northern part of the beach you will find some bars made of wood and also a place where you can rent kayaks, windsurf boards and other equipment for nautical sports.
The southern part is a free beach, where you can meet nudists.
During all the year people go to El Carabassí beach. In August it’s always very crowded and I recommend you to avoid going on Sundays.
