The dunes and Pineda of Guardamar del Segura is one of the most spectacular landscapes of the Costa Blanca. Today they have become a landscape of great ecological, cultural and tourist attraction that has more than 600,000 trees. The beaches of Guardamar have been awarded 3 blue flags in its 11 kilometers of coast line. You can enjoy natural or urban beaches of fine golden sand and crystalline waters surrounded by a coastal park of dunes. Come and enjoy a unique environment in the Mediterranean Sea.
Alfonso XIII park was created at the end of the 19th century to stop the advance of the dunes and prevent the burial of the municipality. It is formed by a great diversity of plant species such as palm trees, pine, cypresses and eucalyptus. It is a perfect place to take a leisurely walk overlooking the sea.
The Reina Sofía park, located in the city’s urban area, is also part of the Pineda. It is an ideal place to enjoy nature with the family. The park has children’s play areas and petanque courts for the elderly. In the summer there are shows and concerts are held in the park auditorium.
The marina and fishing port is located next to the mouth of the Segura River. There you can take a pleasant walk enjoying the sea, the dunes and the Pineda. If you want to buy fresh fish and seafood direct from the sea, you must visit the fish auction that takes place from Monday to Friday at the fish market.
On the other hand if you like water sports, in the leisure center of the port you could go scuba diving, sailing, windsurfing, water skiing canoeing and jet skiing.
