Torrevieja is located only 10 kilometres from Ciudad Quesada, it’s a perfect one-day excursion. Half of the population that lives in Torrevieja is from Spain. The other half is from all over the world, mostly from Great Britain, Germany, Sweden and Russia.
The history of Torrevieja has been always related with the sea and salt. Torrevieja was a fishermen village and also a very important salt producer.
Torrevieja can be a nice place to go shopping, to the cinema (with original version movies), to go out by night or just have a walk through the port and the beaches.
Maybe the most interesting museum to visit in Torrevieja is the Sea and Salt Museum where we can see an exposition about the sea and discover how the salt is made.
There is also a real Spanish submarine in the port that you can visit. You can go there from Wednesday to Sunday, from 10.00 to 14.00. It costs 2 €. It’s very curious and children like it very much.
Park of Nations is also a very interesting place to go for a walk with the family, there is a lake full of carps and ducks with the shape of Europe. The children’s playground area is also very nice, it has a singular dinosaur slide and many other attractions.
Tourism is the main part of an economic activity in Torrevieja. You will see a huge variety of bars and restaurants there. All of them have the menu in different languages.
