The dunes and pine of Guardamar del Segura is one of the most beautiful landscapes of Costa Blanca. It’s declared Area of Natural Interest in Spain. It’s located in the north of the town. The dunes and pine are divided in two wonderful parks where you can take a walk near the sea.

The Alfonso XIII Park and Queen Sofia Park were created in the 19th century to stop the advance of the dunes and prevent the burial of the village.

The Alfonso XIII Park is a forest area of 800 hectares with a set of fixed mobile sand dunes. If you visit this park you can see several plant species such as pines, cypress, eucaliptus, palm trees, dandelion, piteras and barrones.

The Reina Sofía Park is an ideal place to go with your family and enjoy the nature. You can see peacocks that roam the park and squirrels that hide in the trees. Also you can see swans, ducks and California turtles swimming in the artificial small lakes. There are a playgrounds, bocce courts, fountains, gazebos, benches, tables, a cafe and an auditorium where artists do all kinds of shows in summer.

The pinatta have more than 600.000 trees. It’s a perfect place to enjoy the breeze of the Mediterranean Sea. If you want to camp in this area you need previously requested permision from the town hall.
